Murshid Hospital & Health Care Centre has a tradition of organizing free medical and surgical camps in collaboration of its national and international patron organizations. Keeping up its tradition, Murshid Hospital in association with Indus Hospital arranged a TB Awareness Camp within the premises of Dream Foundation Trust in Moach Goth on Saturday, 22nd July, 2017.

During the Camp, the Nurses and Midwifery Students led by Ms. Shehnaz Zaman from Murshid School of Nursing & Midwifery played a significant role. The students actively participated in the health awareness activities whereas the Doctors from M/s. Indus Hospital did the medical checkups of the poor people free of cost. The sputum specimens were taken from all the suspected patients and were asked to visit the Murshid Hospital on Thursday, the 27th July, 2017 to collect their reports. Those identified positive of the Tuberculosis, would then be taken care of through the Patient Welfare Association of MHHCC for prevention and treatment of this dreadful disease.

A group of Nurse Midwifery (4th Year) Students conducted number of ”Awareness Sessions” in one of the lecture halls of Dream Foundation. With the colorfully prepared Charts, they provided the details containing the causes and reasons of tuberculosis. During these sessions chaired by Ms. Shehnaz Zaman, the masses were also provided the tips for control of the diseases. In the end Ms. Shehnaz Zaman offered thanks to the participants and emphasized upon them to make use of the knowledge they have received there.

The poor and underprivileged people visiting the Camp were also educated about the protective measures for the Tuberculosis. Around 300 people belonging to all age groups male, female and children visited the Camp. During an informal chat, a couple of representatives from Dream Foundation Trust suggested that there should also be the treatment offer for those found positive with the disease during these camps. The community has a great concern over it.
