Nasser N. S. Jaffer

The Chairman

Nasser N. S. Jaffer is the Chairman Board of Governors, Murshid Hospital & Healthcare Center. He also serves as the Chairman of Jaffer Group of Companies. As a seasoned entrepreneur and a leader, Mr. Jaffer guides the hospital’s Board of Governors and contributes to establishing the vision, mission, and values, while setting the right growth strategy for the institution.

Nasser Jaffer leads the achievement of the overall growth and vision of the Murshid Hospital & Healthcare Centre, effectively expanding the network of Friends and Supporters of Murshid Hospital to facilitate funding for the hospital. While overseeing both institutions; their overall business, growth, and profitability, Nasser Jaffer keeps the stakeholders informed and satisfied with the outcome. Under his sterling leadership, MH&HCC has progressed successfully geared to achieve new heights, on the road to becoming a tertiary care hospital.

Farid H. Jaffer

Member of the Board

Farid is the CEO of Jaffer Brothers (Private) Limited and is also leading the construction business of the Jaffer Group in his capacity as CEO of Murshid Builders (Private) Limited. In these capacities, Farid plays a vital role in the BOG of MH&HCC to make it a high-quality medical institution serving un-affording patients from the surrounding localities. He offers strategic insights that are consistent with the strategy and vision of the institute while contributing to the overall achievement of the desired results. Farid is also engaged in widening the hospital’s network of friends and donors while maintaining relations with the existing ones.

With his entrepreneurial background, Farid utilizes his experience to contribute to driving the hospital’s operations and growth forward while keeping it under prudent control. He is also involved in evaluating the present and future opportunities, strengths, and weaknesses relating to the institution. As a board member, he determines the strategic options to be considered, supports the ones to be pursued, and gives advice for implementing them.

Farid has done his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania, USA, is a Certified Director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG), and has attended the Advanced Management Development Program at the Rausing Executive Development Center (REDC), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

Farid has been appointed as a member of the MH&HCC Board of Governors in 2019.

Nadir N. Jaffer

Member of the Board

Nadir is the Chief Operating Officer, Jaffer Agro Services (Private) Limited, Board Director of Jaffer Group, and a member of MH&HCC Board of Governors. He is also leading the Group’s biotechnology company, Jaffer Biotech (Private) Limited. In his capacity, Nadir is guiding and supporting the hospital operations to drive it to new heights in line with the strategic direction, offering guidance in technology and financial matters for improvement in the healthcare services.

Nadir reviews the business strategies and plans for the growth of the hospital, ensuring that its organizational structure and capability are appropriate for implementing the chosen strategies. He also contributes to setting the pace for the current operations and future development of the institution, while reviewing the organizational goals and policies.

Nadir graduated from Columbia University in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management Systems and worked abroad for over fifteen years in the field of Information technology. His professional background includes business management, sales, consulting, as well as design and implementation of enterprise systems architectures for financial services firms. Nadir was also the founder and CTO of OpenCrowd, a design and technology services firm based in New York.

Sabir H. Zaidi

Member of the Board

Sabir is the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Services on the Jaffer Board of Directors. He is overseeing the operations of Murshid Hospital & Healthcare Center as a Management Representative and has been associated with Murshid Hospital for over a decade while acquiring a rich experience of all facets of its operations.

Sabir's experience varies from financial analysis, budgeting & management reporting, internal controls & audit, financial controls, treasury, taxation, and statutory compliance. He works closely with the CEO of MH&HCC to determine ways and means to achieve the overall purpose of the institution while identifying gaps or deficiencies in its operations and offers appropriate solutions.

His role is also to bring about efficiency and cost optimization in the operations for the achievement of the hospital’s vision. Sabir ensures that all individual directors are fully equipped to play their part in the Board of Governors.

Sabir is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant from CIMA UK. Moreover, he has attended the Advanced Management Development Programs at the Institute of Management Development (IMD) Switzerland and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He is also a certified Director from the Institute of Business Administration Karachi.

Akbar R. Jaffer

Member of the Board

Akbar is the CEO of Aircraft Sales & Services (Private) Limited, an Air Charter Company. He also heads Granulars (Private) Limited, a crop protection company operating across Pakistan. He is responsible for the development and execution of both companies’ short-term and long-term strategies.

He is a member of the Board of Governors at Murshid Hospital & Healthcare Center. Akbar brings with him 15+ years of expertise in Finance and Risk Management based on his association with JP Morgan Chase & Co. in New York, serving at various positions in Corporate Finance and Consumer Banking.

In his capacity as a member of the Murshid Board of Governors, Akbar contributes towards the financial viability of the institution. He determines strategies and initiatives supporting the hospital’s business growth and promote its area(s) of activities. He is also involved in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of hospital policies, controls, strategies, and business plans under the guidance of the Board.

Akbar is a master in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Henry B. Tippie School of Management – The University of Iowa in 2002.
