Awareness Session on “Obstetric Fistula” was held today at Murshid Hospital & Health Care Centre. Prof Dr Sadiqua N. Jaffery were invited as a chief guest. In the welcome note Dr Samina Naz, head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Murshid Hospital talked about the role of TBAs in order to improve quality of life in fistula patients.
As a Fistula Repair Centre Murshid Hospital and Healthcare Centre provides free of cost medical treatment with transportation and accommodation for the patients, under financial support from NGOs like Janum, Direct Relief International & Fistula Foundation.
Chief guest Prof Dr Sadiqua N. Jaffery appreciated the efforts of Dr Samina and her team and reiterated that TBAs remain the most available and accessible health resource in most rural settings. Students also presented small play to share the problem faced by patients of fistula. In the end participants were awarded certificates & souvenirs were given to the trainers.
