Murshid Hospital & Health Care Centre

The Murshid Hospital and Health Care Centre (MH&HCC) was established in 1987 as a not-for-profit hospital, a project of M/S Darut Tasnif (Pvt) Limited. It was founded to serve the underprivileged communities of suburban Karachi and the Baluchistan areas around Hub River Road. This includes Baldia Town, Shershah (SITE), Daud Goth, Ittehad Town, Javed Bahria, Musharraf Colony, Mohajir Camp, Lasbela district, and other nearby areas such as Gadani, Vinder, and Uthal, stretching up and around the boundaries of Baluchistan.

MH&HCC has been providing quality patient care and a wide range of medical and surgical specialties for many years. The hospital also offers various preventive healthcare services and educational programs. Its affiliated School of Nursing provides multiple short courses and training programs, including a three-year Diploma in Nursing, a one-year Diploma in Midwifery, and a fifteen-month Pupil Midwifery Programme, all recognized by the Pakistan Nursing Council.

The MH&HCC building, designed by Messrs Arshad and Shahid Abdullah, covers 122,000 square feet (2.8 acres) of the total 435,600 square feet (10 acres) property. The School of Nursing occupies approximately 25,606 square feet (0.5 acres) and includes an attached hostel, all enclosed within a compound wall featuring a small garden.

Murshid Hospital and Health Care Centre operates in accordance with medical standards and offers various specialties. Though it has the capacity for 220 beds, it currently functions with about 200 beds spread across multiple units including Outpatient Department (OPD), emergency, general and private wards, intensive care units, and operating theatres. Additional services include Radiology, Ultrasound, and a Blood Bank. Laboratory, Pharmacy, and an Accident & Emergency wing with surgical facilities are available 24/7.

MH&HCC is supported by a team of over 300 staff members, including qualified and dedicated consultants, specialists, resident medical officers, nursing and paramedical staff, technicians, corporate support staff, and an experienced management team.
