Laboratory

Both the Laboratory and the Blood Bank are managed by an experienced pathologist. The objective is to provide quality, accurate, effective, and prompt service.

The laboratory services include a wide range of diagnostic tests in the areas mentioned below:

•   Serology
•   Haematology
•   Biochemistry
•   Microbiology
•   Parasitology

The Department of Laboratory is an independent service which aims to provide a high standard of patient care. At present, there are a total of 11 faculty members on the board. In addition, three trainees are undergoing training. The laboratory operates round the clock without any break, conducting approximately 8,000 tests monthly for the hospital. Currently, no tests are conducted for external doctors or hospitals.

Quality Control

To maintain the credibility of the laboratory findings, it is essential to establish an efficient quality control program with calibrators and controls. The lab operates in three shifts with senior technicians in each. The Murshid Hospital lab will be registered soon with AFIP and later aims to register with RIQAS. The administration encourages laboratory staff to attend workshops, seminars, and symposiums for continuing education and training.
