The Patients Welfare Association (PWA)
Patients Welfare Association (PWA) is a registered body with the Government of Sindh and is looked after by senior management of the Murshid Hospital and Health Care Centre (MH&HCC). It plays a vital role in fund raising for the hospital and organizing free camps for the under privileged. PWA also coordinates with the regular and conventional donors to collect the amount required for the treatment of patients coming daily to the welfare clinics. The account of PWA are properly maintained and audited every year. Nearly ten thousands patients are benefited every year by these clinics.
The Objective of PWA
Endeavours to provide easy access of MH&HCC medical services and offers welfare assistance to patients from under privileged and low income households, regardless of their religion, gender, race, colour, creed or domicile.
MH&HCC provides medical treatment to poor patients through welfare clinic which remains open daily from 9:00am-1:00pm. Family physician with the assistance of necessary paramedical staff examines the patients and carries out test and investigations. If necessary, provide them generic medicines for which a nominal amount is charged from these patients and the remaining amount is borne by PWA. Those who cannot afford to pay even this nominal amount are treated for free. During a year approximately ten thousand patients receive treatments from this clinic.
TB & Diabetic Clinic
The hospital is also providing medical check-ups and treatment for poor and non-affording patients of TB & diabetic from 9:00am to 1:00pm daily charging nominal fee. The remaining expense is borne by PWA. It includes medicines, sputum tests, x-rays for TB patients & random fasting blood sugar test for diabetic patients, etc.
